TAG's weekly meetings provide students with the opportunity to receive face-to-face interaction with advertising professionals. TAG offers a wide variety of guest speakers and topics to familiarize our members with the ins and outs of the industry. Guest speakers come from across the street and across the country, and have included professors, account supervisors, creative directors, media moguls, and more. For more information, please contact VP of Industry Relations, Elizabeth Roman.
TAG socials are held monthly at local popular restaurants, the movies, a bowling alley, and just about anywhere you can imagine. Socials are free to all members and serve as a breather from the fast-paced personality of classes and the ad industry while meeting and interacting with other members. For more information, please contact Social Chair, Michelle Troutt.

Every month, TAG visits local agency visits to serve as another networking outlet and as a way for members to first hand see an agency on a typical day. Students also learn a great deal about the unique corporate culture present within each firm. In addition, agency visits have prompted many students to apply for subsequent internships. For more information, please contact Secretary of Special Events, Jamie Chan.

Every semester, twenty TAG students are chosen to participate in different networking trips around the country. Participants get to visit major advertising agencies and network with Texas Exes, as well as industry professionals. These trips include a Spring Break trip to New York, a May trip to Chicago, a Dallas trip in October, the Houston Advertising Federation Student Competition in the Fall, and a San Francisco trip during winter break. Agencies we have visited in the past include Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Weiden+Kennedy, Razorfish, and JWT. These trips serve as invaluable experience to those who participate and help to build a stronger foundation and network for students. For more information, please contact VP of Industry Relations, Chelsea Anaya.
TAG also boasts a Resume Book which, every semester, is compiled of the 20 most active TAG members' and officers resumes. The resume book is sent to over thirty local and national agencies with whom TAG has a great relationship. Generally, the Resume Book recipients are ex-TAGgers who look forward to the receiving this book every semester for recruiting purposes. This is one of the highlights of TAG membership, and is a great way to get involved. Resume Book Points are rewarded based on involvement in TAG’s volunteering events, special trips, contest participation, meeting attendance, as well as agency visits. For more information, please contact Resume Book Chair, Jose Pintor.
TAG has had a long history of volunteering and cooperative teamwork with the Austin Advertising Federation and local advertising agencies. This semester, TAG members have volunteered for Art From the Streets, EnviroMedia's Trash-Off, the Austin Addy's and more. These volunteer opportunities allow students to interact with advertising professionals while working for a greater cause. For more information, please contact Innovation and Community Outreach Director, Derek Diaz deLeon.
