Erin Landy - President

Biography:

Erin Landy is in her third year at the University of Texas at Austin. Her focus is in advertising, and she is currently working on gaining a Business Foundations certificate as well as a concentration in TexasMedia. Born and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota she is a long ways from home but has found Texas to be very welcoming. Erin has been involved in TAG first as the secretary and currently as the president. Along with this, she previously served as the Director of Account Services for TAGlines, a full service student-run advertising agency. From both TAG and TAGlines she has discovered her passion for the advertising industry. When she does not have her head in a book she enjoys playing tennis, walking around Town Lake and being with her friends and family.

 

Anjali Patel - TAGlines Director

Biography:

Anjali is currently pursuing her third year at UT studying the field of Advertising. Originally a Geology major, Anjali quickly learned that her passions in life did not lie with metamorphic rocks or earthquakes, but in advertising. Now as the new Director of TAGlines she cannot wait to help other UT students find their passion for such a diverse and ever-changing field. Having spent three years as a member of the the Account Services department of TAGlines, she can honestly say that much of her knowledge and success in advertising can be accredited to her work with the student-run agency.

When she finds herself with a moment to relax, she'll spend it with her family and friends watching movies or listening to music. Ultimately, through TAGlines, she hopes to give other students the kind of opportunities she was given when she first joined the organization.

 

Michelle Trout - VP of Industry Relations

Biography:

Michelle was born and raised a Texan. Coming from Dallas, she loves the fast pace culture of this city which can also be found within the advertising industry. She is a Junior at UT where she is earning both an advertising degree and a business foundations certificate. She is starting the Texas Media sequence, and is very excited! Media is definitely her favorite area of advertising. She loves being a member of TAG because of the connections and friends she makes. Along with being the Texas Advertising Group's VP Industry Relations she is also the Activities Chair for Delta Delta Delta Sorority at UT.

Michelle can catch people off guard sometimes with her vast array of interests. She is an avid hunter as well as a pink fanatic. Country music is a must as well as wearing boots to every UT football game. Her interests include cooking (especially desserts), making jewelry and clothes, playing the piano, trying new restaurants, playing sports, and traveling. She attends Austin Stone Community Church weekly and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. She would love to meet you, so come say hi!

 

Mariano Pintor - VP of Special Events

Biography:

Mariano Pintor is a second year at the University of Texas. He has been heavily active in the Texas Advertising Group since his freshman year. He served as the Resume Book Chairman after only one semester. He was then elected the Vice President of Special Events after his sophomore year. Mariano is an Advertising Junkie and an Entreprenuer at heart. Through internships, mentorship and networking, he hopes to get involved in the Account Service side of the Industry and then eventually open his own agency.

Biography:

Pear Phongsawad was born in Bangkok, Thailand and raised in Houston, Texas. She is a second year Advertising student at UT and plans to add Radio-Television-Film as her double major. With a passion for advertising and film production, she loves the media collaboration they share and dreams of pursuing a career that ties both interests together. In her spare time, Pear enjoys traveling, learning new languages (currently French), reading Nicholas Sparks novels, watching re-runs of George Lopez, and volunteering at Texas Student Television. She ambitiously thrives on making the most of her experiences here at UT and hopes to one day work in a cultural and dynamic atmosphere just like Austin.

Biography:

Michael Cousins is a student, hobbyist and business owner. He manages different ventures in the Austin and Houston areas while exploring the wealth of knowledge that is offered at The University of Texas. Michael is a licensed Realtor, Licensed Insurance Adjuster and photo voltaic system installer certified. He enjoys the ongoing process of landscaping his backyard in east Austin as well as part time acting in film & theater.

 

Brittney Brenner - Publicity Director

Biography:

Brittney is a sophomore Advertising and Business Foundations student from Dallas, Texas. She is also looking to pursue a minor in Spanish. In addition to being the upcoming Publicity Director for TAG, she worked last year in the Public Relations department of TAGlines, TAG’s student- run, full-service, pro-bono advertising agency. She is a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and has served on the Publicity Committee for the sorority’s fundraising events as well as the T-shirt Committee. Brittney is passionate, out-going, and genuinely intrigued by everything the advertising world has to offer.

 

Victoria Rogers - Social Chair

Biography:

Originally from Houston; Victoria, being family-oriented, misses home every second of the day. But, being the first in her family to go to college, she doesn't give up. By being around her, you will see how passionate she is. She has a burning desire to just do more, to try harder, to go above and beyond.

Recently becoming an advertising lover, she changed her major from psychology to advertising. Beginning her advertising path in Fall 2009; she quickly dived into it, joining TAG's social committee, volunteering for the Austin Ad Fed, and volunteering at Camp Fire USA as their Public Relations Assistant.

Victoria loves big dogs, Snickers, and pizza. Her favorite singer is Demi Lovato and her favorite artist, overall, is Lil Wayne. She cried at his concert when he came out on stage! One day, she will meet him. She loves her family like nothing in this world. For fun, Victoria simply loves to relax at home with her family and close friends. She loves meeting new people; don't forget, she's only an email or call away!

 

Tanya Assar - Volunteer Coordinator

Biography:

Tanya is currently a third year student pursuing Advertising, Business Foundations, and a concentration in Asian Studies. Tanya has held numerous internship positions and is currently interning at Cornucopia where she works on their social media.

Her passion for event planning is conveyed through her leadership positions in the national-competing dance team Texas Raas and prestigious co-ed business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. Tanya has been captain and brotherhood chair, respectively, where she has had to coordinate and organize several events for students.

For fun, Tanya enjoys dancing, reading, and traveling and has recently developed a fetish for shoes and fashion. She is excited for the upcoming year and organizing volunteering events for students to network with industry professionals.

 

Aubrey Day - Secretary

Biography:

Aubrey is a native Texan, born and raised in Kemah. In May 2011 she will graduate from The University of Texas with a Bachelors of Science in Advertising, and will have also completed the Texas Creative Sequence and Business Foundations Program. Being an artist at heart, Aubrey finds that her creative spirit and problem solving skills suit her well in her field of study and the Austin Community.

In addition to being a full time student and an enthusiastic member of Texas Advertising Group, Aubrey also works as Resident Assistant on campus promoting the growth of community and handling the constant shenanigans of residents within the university’s residence halls. Although she likes to stay busy, Aubrey loves to spend her spare time drawing, painting, visiting nature parks, and spending time with her family. She is excited to serve her term as Secretary and hopes to help her fellow members take advantage of all the opportunities TAG has to offer.

Biography:

A senior in the Texas Creative Sequence, Miachel Pruett will graduate late because she tardily found exactly what she wants to do in life. When not fulfilling her Art Director dream, she participates in TAG as the Resume Book Chair. Miachel's other activities include being president of the Global Environmental Brigades - UT Austin Chapter, advertising for and performing in Gigglepants (UT student comedy improv troupe), and baking at a local cookie factory. Biking in and photographing Austin’s green scenery slip in to her "free time."

Biography:

Stephanie was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas. She is in her second year at the University of Texas, pursuing a degree in Advertising with focus on web design and development. She loves how the advertising industry is dynamic and combines creativity with analysis. Stephanie started designing webpages for fun in seventh grade and eventually it grew into a passion which she hopes to put to use in her future career. In her free time, Stephanie likes to surf the internet, browse graphics sites for typefaces and Photoshop brushes, play video games, and other nerdy things. TAG has been a great experience for Stephanie because it taught her much about advertising and allowed her to see first-hand what the industry is like behind the scenes. She is excited to be the TAG CTO this year and looks forward to working with everyone.
